Post by BlueshirtPost by NilThis group has (or had in past days) many participants who used
Google Groups. If you blunt-force filter out Google people you
might find you have also eliminated some names you expect to see.
If so, you will need to "whitelist" the good guys that you know.
I call it collateral damage... but yes, in theory you should
whitelist the good guys that post from G2... although in my
experience they are few and far between. (It does depend on the
newsgroup though.)
This newsgroup has many Googlers. For example, in the past month, about
67 out of 95 posts come from Googlers, and they represent about 12 of
the most prolific posters. This is true of most of the non-technical
groups, like the music- and fan-related ones I read. If you blanket-
killfile all the Googlers here, there would be hardly anything left.
And, of course, if you use Google Groups, you have no ability to filter
anything anyway, so you're subjected to the junk your own Usenet host
allows. The best solution would be to use a better news service and a
"real" newsreader with filtering/killfile features. Unfortunately,
that's too technical or too much bother for a lot of people.
