I always found the phrase "ticket to ride" interesting. There has long
been discussion about the "ride" originally referring to "Ryde" -- a
town in the Isle of Wight.

However, according to various Youtube commentators, the "ride" is a pun
which also refers to sex. And the "ticket" refers to a certificate
German streetwalkers were given upon being tested for STDs and being
found disease-free.

I buy it. It sounds like a Lennonesque pun.
